Sleep Your Appointment Away with Sedation Dentistry!
Have you avoided going to the dentist due to fear, paranoia, or discomfort? Maybe the thought of a dental drill or needle fills you with dread. Perhaps you have sensitive teeth or a strong gag reflex that has made dental work very uncomfortable in the past. These situations are quite common and have caused countless people to forgo the dental treatment they need. Many dental patients find that sedation dentistry is the solution that enables them to get the dental care they need while avoiding feelings of discomfort or fear. With sedation dentistry (also known as sleep dentistry), Dr. Koziak can fix years of dental problems in as little as a single office visit.
Am I eligible?
Nearly all dental patients are eligible for sedation dentistry! Sedation dentistry allows you to sleep comfortably through the entire dental appointment while Dr. Koziak and his professional staff complete your treatment. If you have been avoiding the dentist for an extended length of time and need several different dental treatments, we can correct all your dental problems while you sleep, often in just one visit.
What's Involved?
If you and Dr. Koziak determine that sedation dentistry is right for you, you will take a small sedative tablet before you come to your treatment session. When you arrive at our office, you will already be feeling relaxed and sleepy. Before any dental work begins, our staff will give you more medication until you are asleep. During treatment, you will feel absolutely nothing… you will be relaxed and sleeping comfortably. The medication does not cause you to become unconscious, but you will be in a deeply relaxed state. For your safety, one of our caring staff members will be with you at all times. You will only be asleep for as long as your dental treatment requires.
After your appointment, you will have little or no memory of your visit with us, although your dental work will be complete. Since you will be sedated, you will require a companion to drive you to your appointment and home again after.
Does It Work?
Sedation dentistry is an extremely safe and effective practice. Unlike general anesthesia, sedation dentistry requires no intravenous tubes or needles. One small pill taken before your appointment and additional medication administered in our office will cause you to be totally relaxed throughout your appointment. Difficult and involved dental treatments that would normally require several appointments can be completed in as little as one visit while you are asleep.
